Welcome back, everyone! Today is World Mental Health Day which makes it the perfect time to talk about it.

These resources are crafted to be inclusive and supportive for anyone facing mental health challenges.
A Personal Journey: Understanding Postpartum Depression
After experiencing a miscarriage, I was confronted with postpartum depression (PPD). It was a period of profound darkness, one that many women silently endure. I found comfort with Elder Holland’s October 2013 General Conference talk, “Like a Broken Vessel.”
Elder Holland’s Talk
Elder Holland’s talk was a revelation. It underscored that mental health struggles are as legitimate as any physical ailment. His words were comforting and healing, and he “told me” that seeking medication or therapy is not a sign of weakness but a path to healing.
Practical Steps for Mental Health
Elder Holland offered practical advice: maintaining faith, seeking professional help, and acknowledging that it’s okay to need medicine. Mental health should never isolate us; rather, it should connect us with resources and support systems that facilitate healing.
Trust in the Process and Have Hope
Struggles are a part of life, molding us into who we are meant to be. We are encouraged to trust in God’s love, believing that brighter days are ahead. Elder Holland beautifully states:
Keep Growing
As we navigate our mental health journeys, let’s continue to learn, grow, and support one another. Remember, it’s not about getting over our struggles but pushing through them with faith and optimism.
Thank you for joining this conversation. Keep growing, stay hopeful, and be of good cheer.
